Dr. Sami Adwan is a Palestinian educator specializing in pedagogies, schoolbooks, and research. He was Vice President for Academic Affairs at Hebron University and Dean of the School of Education at Bethlehem University. Over the years, he has been a dedicated advocate for peacebuilding and for tolerance, togetherness, and understanding among all faiths. In conjunction with researchers and educators from Palestine, Israel, and beyond, he has undertaken several studies on education and peace, including learning to live together, comparative analyses of Israeli and Palestinian history and civil education textbooks, the role of history teachers in peacebuilding, and the historical perceptions of Israeli and Palestinian youth. Adwan earned his Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of San Francisco.
